:: HILTON NIAGARA FALLS RE-DEVELOPMENT COMPLETE
|
|
Back in late January while knee deep in 2 very big projects, DANIMA was approached by the Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview to submit a proposal for the development of their new web site. After meeting with owner Vince Dicosimo and his team, DANIMA began development of www.niagarafallshilton.com.
On March 1, 2005 the Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview unveiled their brand new web site. Working with the excellent design of the Hilton's in-house designer, Ms. Amy Seagram, the DANIMA staff developed the Hilton site within a tight two week deadline.
From The Watermark Restaurant and the Adventures Pool to having the ability to reserve rooms and special packages on-line, the web site not only has a great new look but it provides visitors with all they need to know if they are looking for quality accomodations and dining in Niagara Falls. This luxurious Hotel is located directly across from The Fallsview Casino and is a 3 minute
walk from The Falls!
There are many places to stay in Niagara, but there is only one Hotel that offers luxury and affordability right in the Heart of Niagara! Take a minute to visit their new web site - www.niagarafallshilton.com.
If you are planning to come to Niagara, do it in style - visit the Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview.
(How's that for a plug, Jim?)

:: PARADISE LUXURY ESTATES
|
|
At the end of 2004, friend and comrade, Mr. Dave Porta of Magnum New York, approached DANIMA to take a brochure that their company had developed and turn it into a Flash site.
By the end of February, after a few incarnations and a lot of hard work, the Paradise Luxury Estates web site was launched - DANIMA's first full Flash site (and soon to be first Vietnamese web site). The site provides visitors with a look at the new development that will be taking place in Danang, Vietnam over the next several years. Simply click through the brochure or click on the 3 Villas and view the floor plans.
After working on this project the DANIMA staff has a new appreciation for the country of Vietnam and its picturesque landscape. Take a look for yourself! Initially the site takes a few minutes to load, but trust me, once you visit www.paradise.com.vn you may be purchasing a Villa in Danang, Vietnam for yourself in the near future.

:: BEYOND BOARDOM OPENS DOORS
|
|
It only took a year, but owner Steve Diomin and the DANIMA team finally got it right in early January and launched Beyond Boardom's first official web site. The first 2 designs, though almost ready to go, were shelved while Steve followed a new vision for his company. This vision was eventually captured by Strife 2000. With design in hand, DANIMA then went back to the drawing board and pieced together Beyond Boardom's new look.
Coinciding with the opening of his new store-front in Niagara Falls (Chippawa), Ontario, the Beyond Boardom web site allows visitors to view Beyond Boardom's products (eventually Steve hopes to offer on-line sales) before heading down to the store.
So, if you're feeling a bit "board" (that was for Laura), head over to beyondboardom.com and check out Steve's products, the Beyond Boardom team and a whole bunch more cool stuff - dude!

:: MAYORS SUPPORT CHOOSE NIAGARA
|
|
With more and more people visiting the Choose Niagara web site (over 1,200 visits/day), it was great to begin receiving the support of various Mayors in the Niagara Region. The first Mayor to offer his support and agree to have a page on the Choose Niagara site with "Greetings From The Mayor" was Mayor Ted Salci from Niagara Falls. The Municipalities section offers visitors links to individual municipality pages with "Greetings from the Mayor" and a direct link to their official web site.
The DANIMA staff is planning to connect with the few remaining Mayors to get their support and complete their page on Choose Niagara. This page would assist these municipalities in driving more visitors to their official web site, and in turn would allow visitors to see all that their municipality has to offer. To assist in doing this, DANIMA will soon be providing individual municipality searches directly from the ChooseNiagara.com Direcory on each of the Municipality pages!
Visit the Municipalities section at Choose Niagara and see what the Mayors have to say about Choose Niagara and their great municipalities!

Making Cents Out Of Your Stats!
-- by David Rotella Jr.
It's all about the hits. Or is it? Everybody I know that has a web site, from clients to friends, talks about the amount of hits their site gets. We have a Niagara Business Directory - ChooseNiagara.ca - and the first question businesses ask us when we approach them is "how many hits does the site get?" A legitimate question, but somewhat misleading when you answer! Most people look at the hits on their web site and use that number, not knowing that these are highly inflated due to the actual definition of a "hit".
A Hit:
"A 'hit' is not a visitor but a hit on the web server. What is a hit on the web server? A graphic, java applet, the html file, etc. So, if a site has 79 small graphics on their page -- including the html file every visitor to the site registers as 80 hits on the server! So, 80,000 hits translates to just a 1,000 visitors." [Taken from Jerry West's article "The Real Story"]
In other words if I have a highly graphical web site and I'm using a stats/web analyzer, it is counting every graphic on that front page as a hit? The afore mentioned Hilton web site offers 22 graphics on their front page...therefore, when a visitor hits that site 22 hits are added to the existing hit total. By comparison, the front of the DANIMA site has 5 graphics. That's less than 1/4 of the graphics and therefore producing 1/4 of the number of hits. Now, don't get me wrong, the Hilton attracts 10 times (if not more) visitors than DANIMA's site, but you see my point, right?
So, how do you make "cents" out of all this?
