DANIMA'S YEAR IN REVIEW
|
|
2006 Retrospective
-- by David Rotella Jr.
Before we get started we want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and all the best in 2007. We hope you had a great holiday and are ready to "give 'er" (as our wonderful designer, Leigh-Ann loves to say)!
As we say good-bye to 2006 and get ready to move full steam ahead into 2007 we wanted to take a quick look back at all that transpired over the year and acknowledge those who, once again helped us grow in 2006.
The year started off with the unveiling of The Niagara Directory, fomerly Choose Niagara. In February DANIMA launched the eZ Reservations system on the Niagara Falls Hilton web site. This also lead to the creation of an affiliate system on www.niagarafallshoteldiscounts.com in the summer of 2006.
As well, many great new sites were designed and launched in the early months of the 2006 - Ontario Association of School Board Officials Membership based web site, Hospitalité Canada's new site, Souvenir City's all new web cam at www.souvenirsniagara.com, Boys & Girls Club Niagara's web site and Employee Management System and other great new sites such as; Unique Invites, Early Years Niagara, Matthew Pasco.com, Niagara Falls Rib Fest, and more! A very important addition to DANIMA's team arrived in the Spring of 2006 - Mr. Kie Randell, DANIMA's lead programmer! A very welcome addition to our team!
In March, DANIMA provided the Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards with full multi-media design and support for their annual gala event. As well, in May DANIMA did the same for the Business Link Niagara's Forty Under Forty award ceremony. In the beginning of the summer of '06, DANIMA completed our brand new site. This much needed web-lift, provides our clients with a clearer understanding of all we have to offer (props to Leigh-Ann and Kie for all of their hardwork on the site). Summer also marked the completion of LeaseChangers.com's on-line e-commerce site, Holiday Inn - St. Catharines new site, and the final development of eZ Stats which was created for BallHockey.net and the YCBHL. After launching San Pack's new web site, DANIMA utilized the back-end code to create eZ Inventory which is an on-line Inventory Tracking system. In addition, sites such as Pinehurst School and the labour intensive Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board sites were launched.
Later in 2006 DANIMA launched various other sites such as My Hockey Manager, Your Divorce Story, Criveller Cakes, Brock Office Automation, Joe Grushecky Canada, Yanks Old Niagara, Casa d'Oro Dining Lounge, Canine Leaders, and the new Hype 19 web site.
Needless to say it was a busy year and being too lazy to go back through the files, I know there was much, much more that I forgot to mention, but it goes to show how much you can grow in a year. But this growth could not be possible without a great team and patient and understanding clients.
A FEW THANK YOUS
|
Nick (the best business partner a guy could ask for) and I want to take this opportunity to thank some people who helped make 2006 a great success for us - our best year ever!
First and foremost Nick and I want to thank our families for putting up with the long hours at work...honestly, we are working! Next we have to thank Leigh-Ann, our designer-extraordinaire, and Kie ,our talented lead programmer, for their excellent work over the past year and for creating a great team atmosphere at the DANIMA homestead. As well, we'd like to thank Curtiss and Inchul from Kriostech for their assistance and partnership over the past year and for the great products that they helped develop; Warren for keeping the servers up and running and keeping us in line; Joe "the new server guy" for stepping in during an awkward time and keeping us going; Elfie and Jim for straightening out an accounting mess - how did you do it?? We'd also like to thank all of our amazing clients for putting up with all of our growing pains over the past year, especially Vince and Jim from the Hilton, Dom from the OBHA, Keith and Mary Ann from Student Guard, Brian Y. from BitNet Niagara, Adam from the Business Link, Anne Marie from the Holiday-Inn, Trudy and Janette for hanging in there, Sonia and the folks at KPR District School board, Chris from Alderson and Co., Carl from TST and the wonderful ladies from OASBO! We look forward to working with all of you in 2007 and as I said in my New Year's blog "I can't explain to you how much Nick and I...and the team...appreciate your support and your business. This business is a lot of work...but it's a lot of fun and though it may not always seem it...we are grateful for your patronage. "
All the best in 2007.
Peace to the Godfather of Soul, Mr. James Brown and to Darrent Williams, great Cornerback for the Denver Broncos who lost is life in such a senseless way. You, as well as many others we lost in 2006, will be missed. Peace to the soldiers still fighting Mr. Bush's insane war. Get home safely.
