:: ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?
|
|
It's that time of the year again. As I always say..."you know the NFL season is fast approaching when the Red Sox start falling further and further behind the Yankees".
One of the few things that make the end of summer bearable, is the beginning of NFL Sundays and our Annual Football Pool. For years, like many other pool participants and administrators, we spent countless hours with paper and pen, collecting weekly pools, tabulating scores, manually doing up the standings, etc. Well, those days are over!
DANIMA Launches EasyFootballPool.com:
This year DANIMA has developed a highly efficient and extremely affordable Football Pool to make anyone's office or family pool easier to use and a lot more fun. For only $5 per player, your football pool can be managed completely on-line with less than 15 minutes of administration a week! Make the administration of your office or home pool simple! Webifying your pool will make it easy to add or remove players, set-up weekly odds, and even send emails to all your participants - all from a password protected administrative area. As well, players are able to login to their personalized area to maintain their contact and pool information, make their weekly picks, check the weekly and annual standings, and more. It's easy, it's quick and it's fun!
Visit www.easyfootballpool.com to get your pool set up on-line today! If you are interested in participating in the Rotella Annual Football Pool (non-profit) you can visit the sign up page at EasyFootballPool.com and register today! Don't wait too long, football season is just around the corner!

:: THE DANIMA CLIENT AREA OPENS FOR BUSINESS
|
|
After spending quite a bit of time creating Content Management Systems (or Administrative Areas if you read last month's E-Marketing Article) for our clients the DANIMA staff have just recently completed our own Content Management System (CMS).
Whether you receive hosting from DANIMA, E-Commerce, Domain Registration or have had your site designed by us, you will be receiving a login and a password via email to login to your administrative area within the next 2 weeks. All of DANIMA's clients will be able to login to their administration area to access all of their contact and account information by visiting the DANIMA Client Area @ www.danima.com.
Within the next few weeks all of DANIMA clients will be able to pay their renewal fees and service payments in the comforts of their administrative area. Renewal notices will be emailed directly to the administrative contact in addition to being posted in their administrative area. The best part of this system is that it will ensure that your contact and billing information is completely up-to-date allowing much easier maintenance of your DANIMA accounts.
If you haven't received your login and password, please contact admin@danima.com and we will ensure that you are added to the system quickly.

:: WELCOME ABOARD ~ BATH & WICK
|
|
Recently, Ken Hollinrake, President of Bath & Wick, contacted the DANIMA team to discuss a face-lift for his current web site. In addition to a fresh new look, Ken and his wife Dorothy were also in the market for a fully functional shopping cart for all of their Bath & Wick products. The combination of Ken's enthusiasm and the proven ability of the DANIMA staff to offer a highly effective site at an affordable rate solidified the deal and the beginning of a great new partnership.
Bath & Wick offer the finest handcrafted luxury candles made with the best refined paraffin and organic waxes, blended with all natural ingredients to enhance the color, gloss, hardness and clean, long burning characteristics that define quality.
Ken and Dorothy will be working closely with the DANIMA team over
the next 4 to 5 weeks to create a site that will attract a lot of
traffic and inevitably a lot of potential customers.
Welcome aboard!

Music afficianado, Mr. Paul Semper (a.k.a. The Semp) has kindly
volunteered his services to provide
DaveRotella.com readers
with bi-monthly CD reviews. The Semp will be bestowing his musical
knowledge upon readers with the review of new and old CD's alike.
From Tom Waits to the Great Lake Swimmers, Paul's musical taste spans all genres.
Though I am a bit biased, The Semp's first CD review for the web site last month - Bruce Springsteen's The Rising - was a literary masterpiece! One thing I learned working with Paul this past year was that he definitely knows his music and he has a keen ear for great new talent.
In Paul's own words "music is a journey, not a destination, and The Semp will be your tour guide".
Visit The Semp's CD Reviews @ www.daverotella.com to see this month's review.

:: MONTHLY MARKETING ARTICLE
|
|
Time to hit the links!
-- by David Rotella Jr.
It's summer, it's hot, and who knows how long my power is going to stay on, so I thought I'd make this article brief and to the point (I can feel you rolling your eyes, but I can be brief). In the past, I've written about search engine ranking and how to make your site search engine friendly. Meta tags, alt tags, keywords, title tags are all key elements in increasing your site's ranking in search results but one extremely important element that often gets over-looked hinges on linkages (say that 5 times fast).
We've all been to sites that have a page or sometimes pages of links - personal links, industry-related links, resource links, etc. These links provide your web site visitors with additional information and resources beyond the scope of your site's informative content. While doing this you are also providing the site that you linked to a better chance for a higher ranking in search results. I know what you're saying - "huh?". Well, let me explain.
Many search engines use various factors in determining ranking of a site. One often over-looked factor is linkages. Not how many links you have on your site to other sites, but how many other sites are linked to you. And not just any sites, but industry-related links. Here's an example. DANIMA has a golf directory - Ultimate Caddy Golf Guide (www.ultimatecaddy.com). Last time I checked there were over 300 golf-related sites linked directly to Ultimate Caddy. Obviously, these links alone will increase traffic, however, this is also essential in boosting search engine rankings (where you come up in search results).
Why would people want to link to you? How do you get these links? To answer the first question, those who feel that your site provides useful content and information to their visitors (usually industry related information) will want a link to your site. To answer the second question, setting up these reciprocal links is a job for the site owner or your web marketer. You need to contact the webmaster or web site owner and see if they are willing to exchange links. This usually entails that you have a "links" page on your site. A "links" page will allow you to offer other sites a place to put a reciprocal link to their site. It's not rocket science, but it does take time and patience. However, in the long run, it'll be what keeps driving traffic to your site. And what do we always say? Get them there, keep them there, and keep them coming back!!!
So, the long and short of it is...link, link, link!!! Use your email skills to contact industry related sites to set up reciprocal links. Get your webmaster to add a "links" section to your site (if you don't have one) and populate it with logos and links to sites where your site is listed! You'll see an increase in traffic to your site and you will also be offering your visitors extended resources when visiting your site.
Enjoy the heat (and power if you have it) and we'll see you in September!
